• current timeframe: 1911, Paris, France
• born June 1879 to a school teacher and his wife in the small, rural town of Holstebro, Denmark
• her mother played the piano and was Helene's first teacher, though she quickly surpassed her mother in talent and passion
• at age 10, she was sent to a conservatory in Copenhagen to have her skills tested, resulting in the dean taking her in as his private pupil; she would live with him and his wife for five years • at age 15, it was arranged that she would go to Paris to continue her schooling, first as a pupil of Stéphane Bacqué, a widely admired composer already, and later as an enrolled student at the local conservatory • Stéphane, who was 12 years older than her, recognised her talent and helped her receive training in various other instruments among his friends
• he fell in love with her and when she turned 18, he asked for her hand in marriage • although Helene was only romantically interested in women and well aware of this, she accepted the proposal; knowing that she would be taken more seriously in the musical world as a married woman and married to someone so renowned, too
• however, she put down some clear terms: they would live separately in each their house, he would have to request an appointment to visit her bedroom and they would arrange their married life together around their performance and rehearsal schedules
• Stéphane accepted with no objection and a year later, they got married
• Helene was destined to stay in Paris henceforth and make a name for herself, cementing her own reputation as a composer
• backtagging is good
• no ooc triggers or warnings
• warning for possible period-typical homophobia, racism, etc. which can be downplayed or left out in casual interaction and will never be sprung on anyone. • open to timey-whimey jamjar interaction, historical scenarios and, to some degree, straight-up modern au
• shipping is f/f primarily, but open to m/f with prior cr or discussion; furthermore, i love gen interaction and especially friendship!
• pm for contact, cest/cet time zone
